Biography: The most prolific Irish female composer of the early 20th century, Boyle's work was rarely performed in lifetime. Although she studied in London with Ralph Vaughan Williams, the bulk of her life spent in rural Ireland caring for her family.
Her works won awards and competitions in the 1930s, but fell into obscurity until after her death. Notable pieces include her "Glencree Symphony", "The Magic Harp", and "Elegy".
